Administrative Associate
(30 hours/week part‐time nonexempt)

The Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Foundation (ACLF) is a community‐based, nonprofit organization that trains and supports the leadership of Asian Pacific Islanders with a commitment to social justice, community empowerment and public service. Our mission is to promote social, economic and political justice by training and supporting a strong, sustainable community of civically engaged leaders that reflects the diversity of local Asians & Pacific Islanders.

Position Announcement
ACLF seeks a confident, energetic and organized Administrative Associate with strong, diverse skill sets to play a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the organization. This position reports to the Executive Director. Duties include but not limited to administrative support in the following areas:

  • General office support including handling mail, phone, email, ordering office supplies, and equipment maintenance.
  • Track account payables/receivables and assist with bookkeeping.
  • Database entry and maintenance.
  • Logistical support to programs, particularly the Community Leaders Program, including making and organizing copies, binders, forms and sessions support.
  • Logistical support for graduation dinner, fundraising and program events.
  • Website blog, listserve and social media site updates and maintenance.
  • Board and committee support as necessary.
  • Serve as executive assistant to the executive director.
  • Compensation
    This is a 30 hour/week part‐time nonexempt position at $14/hour with benefits.

    Required Qualifications:
    ‐‐ Exceptional written and oral communications.
    ‐‐ Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multi‐task.
    ‐‐ Demonstrated effective office skills (typing, phones, filing, etc.) and proficiency in computer programs, particularly Microsoft Excel, Office and graphic design software.
    ‐‐ Excellent analytical, problem‐solving and interpersonal skills .
    ‐‐ Excellent judgment and tact when dealing with sensitive issues/situations.
    ‐‐ Flexible work schedule ‐ available for evening and weekend meetings/events
    ‐‐ Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds, capable of standing for one hour or more.
    ‐‐ Valid driver’s license, personal insurance, and access to reliable vehicle.
    ‐‐ Comfortable and willing to work in a small, busy non‐profit office.
    ‐‐ Committed to the values and mission of ACLF to promote social, economic and political justice.

    Desired Qualifications:
    ‐‐ Minimum 3 years success in an administrative position.
    ‐‐ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
    ‐‐ Experience working with communities of color.
