Welcome Chevon! Chevon will serve as ACLF’s program coordinator. Chevon will assist ACLF with developing leadership training opportunities and coordinate ACLF’s annual Community Leaders Program.
Chevon Powell was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She earned her B.A in Sports/ Entertainment/ Event Management with a concentration in Leadership at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. When in Rhode Island she was actively involved with the multicultural center and was on the board for Black History Month. For the past six years she has worked in various aspects of the hospitality and events industry. For the past eight years she has been a volunteer counselor at Camp Janus working with burn survivors between the ages of 5- 18. Her volunteer experience has included building a house with Habitat for Humanity, mentoring youth, and food drives. She has a passion for travel and thus far has traveled to over 38 States, 12 Countries, and 3 Continents. She recently returned from living in Argentina where she studied Spanish and volunteered at a local food bank. Chevon is excited to be in Seattle, volunteering with Americorps MLK Vista and working for ACLF.
