Advocacy Journalism Fellowship Program is a joint collaboration between ACLF and the International Examiner. Fellows will receive seven months of training and be assigned to one of the following four community groups (Cambodian, Pakistani, Samoan, and Thai) identified as being under-represented within the larger Asian Pacific Islander American community:

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Highly motivated, organized, and highly skilled in communication
- Strong analytical and quantitative abilities with excellent written and verbal communications
- High proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel with a general understanding of writing techniques
- Good ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team and to act autonomously as appropriate
SCHEDULE and COMPENSATION:
- 10 hours per week (5 in office)
- $250 per month
FELLOWS WILL LEARN AND BE EXPOSED TO:
- Understanding the intricacies of producing a bi-monthly publication
- Real world knowledge of working with underrepresented communities
- Hands on strategizing and planning
- Participating in regular staff meetings and trainings
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Researching needs, challenges and community members’ perspectives
- Assisting in brainstorming and story planning
- Developing Social Networks
- Establishing bonds with underrepresented communities
- Promoting a better understanding about and among our diverse Asian Pacific American communities
