ACLF has a few immediate volunteer needs for Feb 4 APA Legislative Day and Feb 6 Census Training and Strategy Session. See below and contact Linh Ngo at linhpngo@gmail to volunteer.
We are always seeking volunteer talent for various committees (eg. annual graduation dinner auction and resource development committees), events and general office assistance. Please contact email@example.com if interested.
With the April 1st National Census Day less than 3 months away, ACLF and our partners are getting busy with some big census outreach events. So we will need some of your help to make it happen!
Please sign-up by sending an email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate which event you can help with below.
1) APA Legislative Day: Feb. 4th, Thursday 6:30am-Noon
Meet at CISC at 6:30am and we can carpool to Olympia! Hopefully we will be back to Seattle by noon. We will be organizing materials to put in 16 buses and tabling/passing out census materials during rally.
Below is info on API Legislative Day
Through the efforts of over twenty-five Asian Pacific Islander community groups from around the state, with major sponsorship and coordination provided by the API Coalition and the Washington State Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, members of Washington State’s Asian Pacific American community converge on the state Capitol each year to voice their concerns
2) Seattle Census 2010 Public Education Training and Strategy Session, Feb. 6 Saturday 8am-4pm.
The “Make Our Community Count Campaign!” planning committee comprised of ACLF and other local civil rights and community-based organizations are working on key collaborative Census efforts.
Our first event is a public education training and strategy session designed to provide all the needed and relevant knowledge for individuals to be able to go back to their organizations and communities to organize, outreach, present and/or speak about the Census. We’re expecting 60-100 people.
We’ll need help with set up (8am-10pm) , registration (8:30am-10am), A/V (2 hr periods throughout), directing attendees (2 hour periods throughout), and clean up (2:30-4pm).
Please let Linh know if you are interested or available for a couple of hours for that event.
